One of the better known Community Education roles carried out by Truganina (and many other brigades) by our operational and no-operational members is providing Fire Safe Kids (FSK) presentations to local schools, kindergartens and pre-school centres.  These visits use a program developed by CFA and education professionals to educate young children about the dangers of fire, preventing fire and keeping safe in the event of a fire.  Sessions take place in classrooms or at our station and involve a presenter and (when possible) a firefighter to give the children familiarity with the people they need to trust in the event of a fire or other major emergency.

There are a range of lesson plans that can be taught, tailored to different grade levels from kinder and prep up through the junior school years.
